Michelle looking out to the Regal Princess

An adventure of a lifetime began as we boarded the Regal Princess in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The air was filled with excitement as we set sail on our 7-night Eastern Caribbean cruise. The promise of new destinations and unforgettable experiences lay ahead. What made this cruise even more special was the celebration of Michelle’s birthday.

Our first stop was Princess Cays in the Bahamas. The pristine beach and clear turquoise waters were a perfect introduction to our journey. At any beach, Michelle’s “kid at heart” comes out. She grabbed her inflatable aqua chair, headed to the water, and found heaven. Meanwhile, I was happy just relaxing under the beach clamshell we rented. But the call of lunch brought us together again as we enjoyed the huge buffet choices and barbecue on the beach. Soon, we returned to the ship and witnessed a spectacular sunset as when sailed back out to sea.

After a relaxing day at sea, we arrived in St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands. The island's natural beauty was breathtaking. We took a scenic island tour, visiting the famous Magens Bay and enjoying stunning panoramic views from Drake's Seat. The day was filled with exploration and relaxation, making it a highlight of our cruise.

Next, we docked in St. Maarten, a unique island divided between two influences, the Dutch and French. Here, the thrill of the Flying Dutchman zip line at Rockland Estate awaited us. As we soared down the world's steepest zip line, Michelle’s screams of excitement (or was that fear) and my loud laughter echoed through the air. All of this, doing it together, added to the thrill, making the experience even more memorable. The views of the island and the Caribbean Sea were nothing short of spectacular.

On March 3rd, we celebrated Michelle's birthday at sea. The day was filled with special surprises and celebrations. The ship's crew went above and beyond to make her feel special, starting with breakfast in bed and a beautifully decorated stateroom. We spent the day enjoying the ship's amenities, from the luxurious spa to the lively pool deck. In the evening, we dined at the Captain’s Table. All I can say is the food and wine were delicious. When we returned to our cabin she was surprised again. A birthday cake and roses were presented along with a heartfelt card from the staff. It was a birthday celebration to remember, surrounded by the endless blue of the ocean.

As we spent our final day at sea, we reflected on the incredible experiences we had shared. From the stunning beaches to the thrilling adventures and the unforgettable birthday celebration, the cruise had exceeded all our expectations. The Regal Princess, “The Love Boat”,  had become a temporary home where memories were made and cherished.

Returning to Fort Lauderdale, we disembarked with hearts full of joy and a camera full of pictures, eager to share our stories with friends and family. The journey on the Regal Princess was more than just a vacation; it was a celebration of life, love, and the beauty of the Caribbean.
